I have spent time in a few detention centres in Australia. If the West Indies, which is not a country but a grouping of Caribbean nations, is a member of the ICC, we need to see if there is a way the Eelam Tamils can be represented. I am going to explore if and how the Tamil Eelam Cricket can be recognised by the ICC. Cricket is a great way to relieve stress for people that have been in detention and to foster relationships and bonds within the Tamil community and wider Australia. Tamils who are coming to Australia love cricket. Tamils who live in Australia love cricket. Cricket is a much loved sport in Australia. I hope that it will create a space for newly arrived Tamils who maybe feeling isolated and lonely to interact with the Tamil community already here and wider Australian community. I have started a cricket team called - Tamil Eelam Cricket - in Australia.
